Peak interference issues in your UV assay? Ever consider the source of the silicone used to make the septum? We have, and as a result now test and certify every batch of silicone which is used in the production of our products to insure you receive an interference free product. The problem can very easily be the source of cap, septum and/or vial. A vast majority of interference can be found in the septum. This interference is caused by the silicone manufacturers producing such large volumes of material for a myriad of applications, none of which were meant to be used in chromatography. Nobody gives the cap a second thought when it comes to chromatography either. Low-quality caps will contain higher amounts of interference products. Glass vials also exhibit interference issues depending on the source glass utilized in there manufacture and the quality of people used to package. |
